"Forgotten Fun" means exploring the creation of a shorter video style. Recently, I have been working hard on putting together a longer surf film entitled, "Another Morning Rebel Song" and this was a chance to refine what I've done into a more concise visual piece. It was flmed this past fall primarily around the sheltered points in Noosa with famous loggers Jared Mell, Japanese logger Yuta Sezutso and local Harrison Roach.

La semana pasada nos dimos una vuelta en la casa Quiksilver para la rueda de prensa del Abierto Mexicano de Surf que se llevara a cabo en la playa revolcadero este 17 al 22 de Julio, esperamos un gran evento ya que nos confirmaron que es 4 estrellas ASP con una bolsa de $100,000 dolares.

Woooooow muchísima suerte a todos nuestros atletas mexicanos! Que el premio se quede en casa…

SURF OPEN ACAPULCO

Ayer se confirmo que este año Quiksilver decidió realizar el primer Abierto Mexicano de Surf en el bello puerto de Acapulco, ya que este es de los pocos lugares con  la infraestructura para albergar dicho certamen, con  los miles de aficionados y a las estrellas más grandes del surf. Aunque tenemos algunas dudas en cuanto si el torneo está incorporado al sistema de puntuación de la ASP y que Surfers se presentaran al Abierto?

Les dejamos la información y los esperamos en Acapulco en esta gran fiesta llena de música, arte, ecología y SURF!!!! Estoy seguro que toda la banda Acapulqueña serán los mejores anfitriones y harán de este evento el mejor de México.

CLOUDBREAK MONSTERS

Se dieron cita los mejores surfers del mundo para el evento del año en Fiji. Volcom Fiji Pro en Tavarua. El evento tuvo que ser cancelado un par de días ya que las olas excedían los15 pies y para los competidores era un riesgo muy alto. Aun así muchos de ellos y los mejores Big wave riders enceraron sus tablas y salieron a remar en condiciones extremas. Entre los valientes están Reef Mcintosh, Kala Alexander, Ian Walsh, Mark Haley, John John, los hermanos Gudauskas el Chileno Ramon Navarro quien se llevo el día con un tubo que pasara a la historia, aquí les dejo estas fotos y el video para que se entretengan un rato.

Por cierto muchas felicidades Kelly Slater quien se llevo el primer lugar derrotando al joven Brasileño Gabriel Medina que esta incontrolable.
